The Bishops Stortford Beer festival is back.. Tuesday 15 October 2024
After 6 Six years we are bringing back the CAMRA Bishops Stortford Beer Festival. Following the loss of the Gardens at the British Legion Club, we have found a new venue, in the Function Room next door to the Belgian Brewer Tap Room. The venue is smaller, so the event will be smaller, but as well as the selection Real Ale and Ciders, the full range of the Belgian Brewer Brewery will be available, both the craft draught beers, and the Bottled Conditioned Beers. Due to the reduced size, the number attending will have to be limited, and admission will be by pre-bought ticket only. It is very unlikley that we will have any tickets for sale on the door.

Herts Essex Borders News Wednesday 31 July 2024
As you will no doubt be aware Herts Essex Borders will change due to the regional review.

Reports of the branches death have been circulation, and while this change does mean the end of Herts Essex Borders Branch in Name, but it does not mean we will cease in entirety. Herts Essex Borders will likely split onto a West Essex, and a East Herts section, and exist as two branches, two sub branches, or a branch and a sub branch.

One interesting option is that we could exist as two distant branches, West Essex and East Hert, with separate committees who are actually made up of the same individuals. The two branches could meet every other month, one month in West Essex, the next in East Herts, and run joint socials and events. In effect the only change would be the branch name of Herts Essex Borders.

However more details will be made available as this process proceeds, and we know how the process to split the branches will happen.
